JUDE MOONEY

"My current work is about
the undeniable connection
that women have with
nature. For eons gals have been depicted in the woods, rivers, oceans and
meadows, forever the
symbol of fertility.

Veronica Ramirez

Veronica first envisioned the Earth Mandala at an Earthdance in 1997. She started making them at Earthdance festivals and eventually brought them
to other events around the bay area.

Earth Mandala at the SpiralMuse Launch

The Earth Mandala's are made of flowers, stone, wood, herbs, sacred objects and other pieces of
the earth. Individuals contribute by providing the earth supplies, creative inspiration, and helping in the actual making of the Mandala.

See some examples below from our SpiralMuse events. Click here to see enlarged photos of Mandalas

IMAGINE "Hanub Ku still forming"
The hunab ku, in the center of the Mandala, is a mayan symbol
equivalent to the yin yang symbol of the chinese tradition. The maya believed in this symbol of duality as the source of their beingness and divinity. It is precise mathematically too!

IMAGINE "A Piece of Peace"

IMAGINE "Honoring the Sacred"

I will not be just a tourist in the world of images, just watching images passing by which I cannot live in, make love to, possess as permanent sources of joy and ecstasy.
- Anais Nin

All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.
- Martin Buber

For art to exist, for any sort of aesthetic activity to exist, a certain physiological precondition is indispensable: intoxication.
- Friedrich Nietzsche
