The central line that is prevalent in most of the work is the first line drawn, and is an unconscious representation of the spinal column, which is the first thing that forms in the body.

"Blue Vision"

My intimate connection with the spine is derived from my Cranio Sacral practice, and I often incorporate my art as a healing force during a session.  Art can free the body's healing mechanisms, working to unite body, mind and spirit, facilitating transformation in both the artist and the viewer.

"Root Chakra"

I am inspired by beginnings, the underlying nature of light, yoga and the breath, nature, spiritual work and relationships.  These influences, all hovering just below the surface, become expressed through my art almost like a mandala.

"Winter Abstract"

The eggshell pieces are created in mosaic form, which gives me a feeling of working within a sculptural format.   Small, precise and textural, they offer a sense of movement and shifting plays of light.  The nature of mosaics are to simultaneously expose both the process and the completed, the minute parts and the whole.  They inspire patience and perseverance and a sense of fragment restored to a cohesive harmony -- central themes in my life.

Musings

Art is not so much expressing oneself, as it is discovering oneself.
- Anawanitia

The only thing better than singing is more singing.
- Ella Fitzgerald

Stop. Breathe. Allow yourself the luxury of doing nothing for a moment, or an hour, or even a day. It is in emptiness that inspiration will appear.
- Carole Katchen

I don't see why we ever think of what others think of what we do – no matter who they are. Isn't it enough just to express yourself?
- Georgia O'Keeffe

Fried Sugar Throat

Peel me like a pear
I don't care
wear me anyway you want
as long as I'm soft
drawn open
a fried sugar throat
a resting bone
breath like strawberry
and a sore sore throat
so sore I rub it
I love it

Do whatever you want
I don't care
as long as I'm soft
tasting tangerine
caught like a thief
whispering vines
in between teeth

My hands wander
my eyes wander
my heart wanders
I'm fine as long as you
let me go on about with
this sweetness
a fried sugar throat
going sweeter
with every turn

Peel me like a pear
I don't care
spin me round
see what you create
little jewel box handler
wear me anyway you want
I don't care
as long as I'm soft
sore and sweet.
